Coté Box

Coté Box
The July box takes us on a journey to two of the most iconic wine regions on both sides of the peninsula, Penedès (Catalonia) and Bairrada (Portugal). Both were affected during the early 90s by the introduction of international varieties. Fortunately today, and thanks to the work of some producers, traditional strains are being recovered, returning to the two regions the differentiating point of yesteryear.
On the one hand, we visit the Penedès, where Alberto and Joshua, the hands behind Cyclic Beer Farm, have chosen one of the most representative grapes of the area, the Parellada, to make the Swallows 2021. This grape provides good acidity to the wines and a citrus and floral touch, with very moderate alcohol, generating a fresh and easy wine to accompany us during summer nights.
On the other side of the peninsula, in Bairrada, Maria Pato produces Baga Duck mainly, and as the name does not deceive, with Baga, the red grape symbol of the region, which owes much to the preservation work of the entire Pato family.
