Spark Box Wine Bottles:
In March, with the Spark box, we are excited to introduce two young projects whose first harvests were made in 2020 and 2021.
We begin our journey in Alenquer, in the Lisbon region, the area chosen by winemakers Miguel and Sara to create wines with their unique style—fresh, vibrant, and with an Atlantic influence. The limestone soils of the region contribute freshness and minerality to the wines, while the Sierra de Montejunto, the highest mountain in the region, protects the vineyards from the strong winds of the Atlantic Ocean. In recent years, thanks to the work of new producers like Miguel and Sara, native varieties such as Arinto, Castelao, and Vital are being revived, making this one of the most promising areas in the Lisbon region.
The second destination is Chinon, located in the Loire Valley. Cabernet Franc is the key grape variety in the area, and it is with this grape that Beatriz and Étienne make their wines at Clos Kixhaya. The region's limestone soils produce wines with smooth tannins and vibrant acidity, offering an elegant profile. The cool climate of the region becomes the perfect ally for slow fermentations and the gentle extraction characteristic of their wines, akin to a slow-cooking process. With patience, great results always come.
Two wines from young, vibrant projects, perfect for welcoming the spring that is just around the corner.
