Alex della Vecchia is the man behind Pedecastello, a winery located in Belluno, at the foot of the Dolomites, at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. This area of Veneto has a wide thermal amplitude which, combined with soils rich in sediment and composed mainly of gravel and limestone, produces wines with a fresh and elegant profile, with low alcohol content.
Grinton is made from 100% Chardonnay. The grapes are fermented on their skins for five days and, after being pressed, they are first transferred to old barrels for three months and then to stainless steel tanks for three more months. This particular process produces a wine with a clean profile, straw-coloured, with notes of green fruits characteristic of Chardonnay in colder climates. A delightful wine for a high-altitude experience.
